Johanna Boal

Waiting for Hope

You – refugee – besieged
in a jungle, a bush in Calais busy
extending faith, developed amongst
the building-up of grime, disease
with overcrowding. Made hallowed
ground and inexpensive, and donated things
wood, plastic, carpets built a church
in a wilderness already set-apart
to let you into England.
